It’s a part of our culture to learn about using the gemstones both for decorative purposes, and as amulets to ward off evil or provide protection in battle (whatever this can mean in our times). The amber used in the EX-SAVAGE collection was acclaimed to possess the power of healing, and was supposed to contain magical powers, which is why amber charms were carried to offer protection against evil forces and help against witchcraft. It is said to bring balance, to absorb the negative energy, to ease pain, and increases life force. It is said that amber draw disease out of afflicted body areas and neutralize negative energy allowing the body to heal itself. It is also said that amber has the power to add stability to one’s life.

If you don’t believe, you don’t get it.

We are proud to be EX-SAVAGE and we apply the best qualities of primitive and medieval cultures in our Scandinavian EX-SAVAGE COLLECTION by using natural stones for decoration, not synthetics. The Baltic sea amber pieces used in the EX-SAVAGE collection shows their real beauty in a sunshine when changing the dark cherry color into different hues of burning sun, as seen on the photo, when their magical powers are meant to be the most effective when charged by the sun … and will work even if the amber’s wearer initially has no belief in its powers.

For decoration we use hand-made crocheted laces created  by art craftsmen from Koniakow , the mountain area in the south of Poland, where tradition of making laces started in 17 century. No one remember how, but a legend says that a poor shepherd girl liked to watch spiders weaving nets on a meadow, especially in a dawn’s sunshine. First she tried to copy the pattern using long grass, to follow with wool thread she made herself of sheep wool. When someone she worked for noticed her lace, asked her to make a collar lace by providing her with thread of linen, and when ready she showed it off in a festive dress in church. Soon, the local landlord changed the poor girl’s destiny by employing her to work for him, and later on by marrying her. In 18 century all the region was famous for crocheted laces created for kings and aristocrats from all over the Central and Eastern Europe.

The laces with amber inside within the EX-SAVAGE fashion pieces are still admired by European aristocrats and royal courts members for the natural qualities and the precise mostly hand-made tailoring.
